Shipping and Receiving Clerk

Mid-Continent Engineering is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This is a 1st Shift opportunity-7:00 am to 4:30 pm- Monday through Thursday and on Friday from 7 am to 11 am.

Summary:

Responsible for safely unloading & receiving of new product and/ or loading product for final shipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:

· Stores material in proper location in the warehouse stores area.

· Assists with organizing and maintaining parts within the warehouse stores area.

· Issues material to the shop floor and issue processes within the ERP system.

· Assists with cycle counting and count reconciling.

· Receives incoming materials and ships materials to other locations.

· Prepares records of shipment such as bills of lading and packing slips as directed by delivery schedules.

· Contacts outside carriers to coordinate the pickup and delivery of product.

· Maintains records of goods shipped.

· Assists with the preparation of product for shipment.

· Verifies the correctness of incoming product to packing slips, purchase orders or other authorization to receive.

· Routes the materials to proper departments.

· Informs quality and purchasing of missing or damaged products.

· Operates tier lift truck, convey, forklift, pallet jack, or hoist to move product from shipping & receiving platform to storage or work area.

· Maintains a safe, clean organized work area.

· May be required to work in other departments or on other shifts, as assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D and 1-3 years related experience.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Suite such as excel, word, etc.
• Experience with shipping software such as: Fed Ex, UPS, LTL, USPS, etc.
• Prefer ERP experience, knowledge of Epicor ERP Software is a plus.

· Must achieve & maintain a company forklift certification. Also understand how to safely operate a forklift; speeds, watching out for pedestrians, etc.

Employees must be able to cope with Minnesota climate variances, endure heat & cold conditions in the shop. Endure heavy workloads, high noise levels from hammering, and grinding (hearing protection provided). Protect against metal particles, fumes, sparks, particles, and gases (safety glasses, safety-toed boots, ear plugs, and gloves provided per the company policy guidelines).

Individuals working in an office setting will not endure some of the physical & work environments conditions of the production floor unless office is adjacent to the production floor or per the individuals job duties and/ or responsibilities. All office personnel must abide by the PPE guidelines (safety glasses, safety-toed boots that are provided per the company policy guidelines) when entering the production floor or if a requirement of a department that individual is entering or working in.
