North Central Utility (NCU) is one of the largest semi-trailer dealers in the world helping support the transportation industry and the critical movement of goods. A large portion of our business helps support refrigerated carriers that transport temperature-sensitive food and materials throughout North America.
JOB DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Parts Warehouse (Shipping/Receiving Clerk) to perform work assignments while maintaining established company and industry standards.
JOB DETAILS:
- Receive and sign each incoming shipment, checking for damage, correct package count, and shipping charge status, identifying collect versus prepaid.
- Process incoming orders within 24 hours of the order received
- Check off parts on the purchase order and packing list to make sure all parts received
- Check to ensure there is no concealed damage; ensure that all kits received have the correct parts inside.
- Distribute incoming parts as required to place in stock for the shop or front counter or outside for the route.
- Parts for stock must be part numbered, put away, and their bin location recorded on the packing list.
- Post (basic data entry) packing list receipt and location changes into our operating system.
- Maintain a current inventory list of all items stored in each storage trailer. Keep warehouse, shipping, and Receiving area, rail racks, storage trailers, and upstairs neat, clean, and organized. Maintain shipping supplies, forms from shippers, and current freight rates from shippers.
- Pull, package, and bill the orders for the weekly shuttle. Load and unload the shuttle truck, keeping track of the baskets, paperwork, and company mail. Check-in/put away shuttle orders.
- Process outgoing shipments; pull, package, and bill the orders making sure that the paperwork matches the items shipped.
- Maintain dirty core inventory; return dirty cores in an expedient manner; maintain and update the dirty core list.
- Maintain warranty tracking; filed warranty claims with vendors; return parts for warranty consideration in an expedient manner; ensure customers’ claims are processed immediately.
- Operate forklifts and standard transmission vehicles. Inform your manager of repairs needed.
- Process orders for the Parts Department in a safe and efficient manner. Load the delivery vehicle, making sure that the paperwork matches the items loaded.
- Ensure items loaded for delivery match the customers’ invoices. All returns are processed in an expedient manner. Tag the returns with the customer name, date, and reason for return and load them into the vehicle. Prepare return documents and copy the customer.
- Obtain a receipt or a packing list for returns; when an order is returned without paperwork, immediately prepare a summary/packing list regarding these items.
- Assist customers in identifying parts’ needs; accurately pull and invoice orders; answer telephones and greet customers in a timely and professional manner
- Perform all other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-60 pounds consistently; occasionally up to 75-100 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion with strength, stamina, and control are required
- Use of warehouse and forklift equipment required. (Forklift certification will be provided prior to forklift usage)
- Prior delivery experience is helpful
- 6-months of forklift experience is preferred.
- A high school diploma is preferred
- Ability to read, communicate and respond to internal procedures and documentation
- Basic computer skills are helpful
- Excellent communication and organization skills, working with both customers and internal staff
- Consistent use of seat belts is required at all times when using forklift equipment and driving company vehicles
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is necessary

Hours of Work:1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
