As one of the largest semi-trailer dealers in the world, NCU supports the transportation industry and the critical movement of goods. A significant part of our business is dedicated to supporting refrigerated carriers that transport temperature-sensitive food and materials throughout North America. We are looking for a Shipping and Receiving Clerk who can efficiently manage daily operations while upholding the highest standards of quality and accuracy set by our company and the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and sign each incoming shipment, check for damage, correct package count and shipping charge status, and identify collect versus prepaid.
- Process incoming orders within 24 hours of the order received.
- Check off parts on the purchase order and packing list to ensure all parts are received.
- Distribute incoming parts as required to place in stock for the shop, front counter, or outside for the route.
- Parts for stock must be part numbered and put away, and their bin location must be recorded on the packing list.
- Post packing list receipt (basic data entry) and location changes into our operating system.
- Maintain a current inventory list of all items stored in each storage trailer.
- Meep the warehouse, shipping, receiving area, rail racks, storage trailers, and upstairs neat, clean, and organized.
- Maintain shipping supplies, forms from shippers, and current freight rates from shippers.
- Pull, package, and bill the orders for the weekly shuttle.
- Load and unload the shuttle truck, keeping track of the baskets, paperwork, and company mail. Check-in/put away shuttle orders.
- Process outgoing shipments.
- Operate forklifts and standard transmission vehicles.
- Maintain dirty core inventory.
- Maintain warranty tracking.
- Assist customers in identifying parts’ needs; accurately pull and invoice orders; answer telephones and greet customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30-60 pounds consistently; occasionally up to 75-100 pounds
- Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motion with strength, stamina, and control are required
- Use of warehouse and forklift equipment required. (Forklift certification will be provided prior to forklift usage)
- 6-months of forklift experience is preferred.
- A high school diploma is preferred
- Ability to read, communicate, and respond to internal procedures and documentation
- Basic computer skills are helpful
- Excellent communication and organization skills, working with both customers and internal staff
- Consistent use of seat belts is required at all times when using forklift equipment and driving company vehicles
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is necessary
- This is a safety-sensitive position and requires Cannabis/THC screening
