Position Summary:
Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparation, and processing of items for shipment; maintenance and issuing of stock room items.
Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in receiving incoming materials, items manufactured at GP:50.
- Assists with entering appropriate information for incoming materials and items into ERP program.
- Assists with distribution of received materials and items to appropriate locations in the facility and inventory.
- Assists with packaging and shipping of outgoing items using UPS WorldShip software system.
- Assists with processing sales orders related with shipping records using ERP program.
- Assists with maintaining inventory and purchase of items used to package outgoing shipments.
- Maintains an organized work area for efficient workflow.
- Unspecified duties related to processing of work orders and inventory maintenance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
- Personal computer skills, including routine database activity and record keeping. Microsoft Outlook (email), MS Word, MS Excel.
- Ability to learn ERP computer programs, UPS World Ship Software, FedEx, and DHL online software.
- High degree of organization and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple diagrams, work instructions.
EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:
- Personal Computer, Copier, Tape machine, Tape gun, Simple equipment for testing, measurement and counting when applicable.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Activity Level: Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.
- Must stand, walk, or sit 1/3 to 2/3 of time.
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch < 1/3 of time.
- Must be able to lift weight or exert force up to 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Vision Requirements: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:
Mathematical: must be able to do simple math calculations.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation.
- Must be able to load or unload vehicle outdoors as required.
- Must be able to work over-time on occasion.
