- Purpose of the Shift Supervisor is to supervise the activities and delegate responsibilities of network operations staff for various NOC shifts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Performs triage and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN and telephony issues. Managing the repairs with service providers, LEC's, field techs, internal and external resources.
- Serves as an escalation point for junior techs in troubleshooting service impacting issues. Ability to utilize network monitoring systems, identify issues and services validation.
- Provides, supervision, direction, team building, coaching of NOC team members.
- Plans, organizes and directs the NOC team to ensure the stable operation of NJT network infrastructure as per standard operation procedures.
- Managing activities to resolve hardware problems in a timely and accurate fashion. Includes but is not limited to ticket oversight and escalation when needed.

- Network Operations Staff
- High School Diploma and (4) years of applied experience in network operations
- One-year supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management [ITSM] best practices with strong understanding of Service Operations processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of classic Network Management fundamentals, NOC monitoring tools, ticketing systems, processes, and procedures
- Working knowledge of Data networking fundamentals such as OSI model, IP addressing, WLAN and VLAN, Routers, Switches and IP routing protocols and packet captures
