Supervisor - Cherry Hill Tax Collector's Office

Cherry Hill Township has an immediate opening for a Supervisor in the Tax Collector's office.

Position Summary:

At the direction of the Tax Collector, directs and supervises activities for the collection of municipal tax payments and sewer utility bills.

• Organizes workflow and ensures that employees understand their duties and delegated tasks.
• Monitors employee productivity and provides constructive feedback and coaching.
• Accurately processes all receipts for taxes, sewer, and Township departments.
• Balances/reconciles cash/check batches daily, prepares deposits and updates excel file.
• Processes turnover funds to the Controller.
• Processes title company payments.
• Keeps track of new owner file.
• Assists customers at counter and on telephone.
• Trains new office personnel to perform their required tasks and monitors their performance.
• Assists staff with general office duties including filing and record-keeping.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Tax Collector.

Qualifications:

• State of New Jersey Tax Collector's License required
• High School Diploma or GED; one or two years of clerical experience; experience working with public highly desirable; or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Candidate must have excellent math skills and ability to count, handle, and reconcile large amounts of cash.
• Candidate must be accurate, attentive to detail, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, including excellent customer service skills and flexible thinking.
• Ability to handle inquiries and/or complaints tactfully and effectively
• Knowledge of Edmunds Tax and Utility software
• New Jersey residency required pursuant to N.J.S.A. 54:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70)
• Driver’s License
• Use of Equipment: Personal computer (Microsoft Outlook/Word/Excel); photocopier, calculator, fax machine
