Title of Position: Senior Software Engineer
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Pay Range: Hiring/Starting pay range is $95,000 - $125,000/annually, based on experience.

Position Summary
Analyze requirements business processes for automation and lead in the development of applications, data automation, and interfaces to meet RFTA requirements. Work with stakeholders to determine application needs and create applications that help automate tasks. Assist IT Software and Data Manager in planning future projects and application needs. Support existing and new applications as needed.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop new applications and interfaces using various programming languages (python, Django, PHP, Bootstrap, JavaScript, SQL)
- Develop automation interfaces using data sources such as SQL databases, REST API, flat files, and a host of other data locations and sources.
- Utilize Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) software to develop, automate, and support an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
- Develop reporting infrastructure and standard reports/dashboards in a front-end business intelligence tool for staff self-service of RFTA data.
- Support various enterprise applications such as ERP and business-specific software platforms.
- Make recommendations for procurement of business-specific software platforms.
- Deploy and organize the implementation of business-specific software platforms.
- Create, configure, and maintain existing and new RFTA collaboration and document-sharing platforms.
- Setup and maintain application and database backups.
- Lead teams of junior developers as the project team lead on mid-sized to large software and data automation projects.
- Report performance and progress of individual and team progress on assigned projects.
- Perform programming, database, procurement and maintenance tasks in IT when needed and assigned by the IT Director or Manager.
Other Job Duties
- Develop agency applications that aid in organizational productivity (PHP, SQL Server and various other programming languages and platforms)
- Write scripts to automate redundant tasks bases on:
- Prescribed intervals to ensure continuity of operations,
- Data triggers that require workflow actions,
- Legal and regulatory renewals/expirations,
- Any other scheduled or event-based tasks that are needed to improve efficiency and/or compliance.
- Create applications to support IOT technology to automate hardware and software processes.
- Engage stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement via custom development.
- Train and assist staff on processes related to custom and organization interfaces.
- Make recommendations regarding software procurements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with collaboration and document management software (e.g. SharePoint 2016) fundamentals including out of the box web parts, lists, workflows, templates and master pages.
- Understanding of collaboration and document management system administration including management of service applications, web applications, site collection administration, and backup/restore via administration software and scripting software (e.g. - Windows PowerShell).
- Experience in using collaboration and document management systems to develop sites and workflows (e.g., SharePoint Designer).
- Experience in backup/restore of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (e.g., MS SQL Server).
- Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including .Net, JavaScript, and HTML5
- Solid knowledge of computer networking, printers and printing techniques.
- Solid knowledge of Windows and MS Office software.
- Basic knowledge of hardware as it relates to software integrations and systems and ability to troubleshoot related problems.
- Knowledge of data privacy such as HIPPA and other HR policies that apply employee information.
Education
Associate's Degree in Electronics or related field and/or Microsoft Networking Certificate are desirable, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Experience
- Ten (10) years' experience in developing interfaces, integrations, custom applications and supporting systems.
- Two (2) years' experience leading projects and project teams on development projects preferred.
