This position provides expertise and knowledge to follow emerging Product Stewardship issues and regulations for their assigned area(s) of responsibility. This includes monitoring, interpretation, and proactive impact assessment of (emerging) Product Stewardship and regulatory issues to provide recommendations to business stakeholders (e.g. business managers, R&D, Application Development and Technical Service teams, sales), customers, distributors, manufacturing plants, and legal. The incumbent will participate in industry groups/trade organizations dealing with Product Stewardship issues. They will represent LYB with regulatory agencies and trade organizations for Product Stewardship issues, as appropriate.
The position will have regional and specific global business program responsibilities and maintain tactical implementation / support for defined facilities in the region of responsibility.
- Serves as liaison with business groups, manufacturing, R&D, sales and marketing, technical services, legal and customers on Product Stewardship issues for assigned product(s)
- Manage and resolve customer requests for product compliance in assigned area(s) of responsibility to international regulations and other requirements
- Monitor and manage emerging issues or changing regulations in assigned area(s) of responsibility. Provide issue analysis, response strategy and execution plans for the issues identified
- Participate in the process of verifying Product Stewardship compliance for new and emerging commercial products in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Collaboratively work within the Product Safety team to coordinate support of Safety Data Sheets/Labels, regulatory, toxicology and other personnel to address issues for assigned business area
- Maintain familiarity with products, manufacturing processes, product compositions, target markets and regulatory issues concerning assigned products and their production and use
- Represents the Company's Product Stewardship function in external regulatory and professional/technical networks, as required
- Participate in planning and execution of Product Stewardship initiatives
- Support large scale company projects/initiatives
- Actively contributes to the development of Company Product Stewardship strategy, goals and performance indicators
- Provides leadership to develop, plan, implement, and manage programs and procedures in compliance with Company Operational Excellence expectations
Education
- BS/MS/PHD technical degree (i.e., chemistry, engineering or an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) discipline)
Experience
- Minimum 10 years specific functional experience or less if the degree is PhD in the areas of regulatory, Product Stewardship, EHS or product technical R&D is preferred

- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems and knowledge on Six Sigma or lean Manufacturing tools are seen as an advantage
