Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.
Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Senior Procurement Data Analystand join our team to support our government customer in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to provide valuable insights to our organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to optimize acquisition performance, drive informed decision-making, and reduce risk. The candidate will track and assemble information related to the Acquisition Services department’s performance, analyze reports and summarize data, create reporting mechanisms to optimize performance, develop and maintain acquisition performance indicators. This role will be responsible to maintain one or more Procurement Data Dashboards, perform as the liaison with IT and SIMCO organizations for software testing and implementation of procurement related data; serve as the functional or technical lead on projects to enhance existing information systems for procurement-related data; develop project documentation required and update or modify as needed; provide documentation assistance to other technical areas of procurement related data sets; provide documentation in order to respond to requests for information and report status of projects to management and supervisors. This role will transform raw, complex data sets using business intelligence tools and visualizations that will be used by leadership to analyze key performance indicators and assess the operations of the procurement program.
Exempt Salary Grade (32-36)

- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Information Systems, or another similar field with ten (10) years of professional experience, or
- Associate's Degree with fourteen (14) years of professional experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eighteen (18) years of professional experience is required.
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role.
- Knowledge and/or certifications demonstrating capability working with data models and reporting packages (ideally Power BI and/or Peoplesoft/Oracle).
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, data visualization, and data mining techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL, Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook), Sharepoint, and Adobe.
- Familiarity with acquisition and Procurement Databases; ability to design and develop comprehensive reports and self-service capabilities for practitioners.
- Proven ability to integrate well into a team and build relationships with stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations; ability to evaluate audit reports regulations, and other relevant material as a basis for developing departmental guides or procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities; ability to ensure quality of data by interpreting patters and trends using advanced digital tools and methods including PowerBI and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, writing and analytical skills to effectively interact with stakeholders, customers, and management.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with Oracle financial software.
- Previous experience with WIPP or the Department of Energy.
Starting salary $90,142 per year *
*Base salary will be dependent upon candidate's background (i.e. education and experience)
