Position Description
Advertised Job Summary The Senior Human Resources Generalist will serve on a service team within the Division of Human Resources, directly supporting a set of assigned colleges and divisions within the University. The Senior HR Generalist plays a crucial role on the Service Team by providing higher-level support for cross-functional HR actions. This position prioritizes service to customer units by providing guidance and assistance to HR contacts, management, and employees regarding HR actions within the scope of this position. The Senior HR Generalist is a resource and peer leader to HR Contacts to ensure they are strengthening their knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and applicable regulations/laws.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience in human resources management programs, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications Experience with State of SC HR regulations and job classifications.Working knowledge of SC PEBA state insurance benefits
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle data with confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously. In depth knowledge of HR best practices, as well as state and federal laws and regulations. Ability to analyze requests and make sound recommendations or solutions. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers at all levels. Ability to write clearly, accurately, and effectively.
