SENIOR HR GENERALIST JOB OBJECTIVES:
Your role will be far from one-dimensional and will have a multitude of opportunities to make real impact in HR. In your position, you will report to the Chief People Officer and be their day-to-day interface with the employee and mid-level managers, helping to shape and evolve the employee experience here at PDF Solutions. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like crafting HR guidelines and improving processes while supporting the day-to-day questions that come from managers and employees, as well as supporting and advising on employment law. Your positive outlook, approachability, and strong knowledge and capability within HR will foster organizational trust with the HR team. You will be instrumental in transforming an organization from “start-up” mentality to” scale up” while still enabling the organization to maintain its entrepreneurial edge.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work within the team to be a visible point of contact for employees and leaders in North America (US and Canada) to provide support in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise such as bonuses, benefits, leaves of absence and triaging other related HR topics
- Able to work onsite three times a week or more Monday to Friday during core business hours of operation
- Ability to participate with HR leadership in proposing new HR programs, and evolving existing HR programs and processes
- Actively involved in communicating, gaining buy in and adoption of HR programs
- Coaching and driving completion of employee performance reviews, compensation cycles, employee engagement and development and any other HR programs as they evolve
- Guiding managers and the organization through legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource laws within Canada and the US,
- Ability to conduct sensitive meetings such as employee terminations, performance improvement, and investigations
- Reinforce the company policies, rules, and procedures to ensure employees’ safety and wellness
- Help develop employee safety and wellness programs with our facilities team
- Plan onboarding strategies and perform new employee orientation to ensure an exceptional early employee experience
- Conduct and analyze exit interviews and make actionable recommendations based on data
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational charts, and contribute to policy development
- Support benefit plan roll out and continuous improvement of the programs
- With HR leadership, assist in development and implementation of human resource policies
- Gather data, create reports and analyze information with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates
- Support in the creation and roll out of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
SKILLS:
- A self-starter and creative problem solver who is passionate about the employee experience and unifying employees
- Strong understanding of California and/or Canadian employment law
- Experience with managing and creating HR health benefit programs
- Someone who exhibits sound judgment with the ability to prioritize, make decisions and has the curiosity to understand the driving behaviors of the organization
- Attention to detail and a strong ability to execute with excellence
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas by asking the right questions and execute after being given general guidance
- Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company including interacting with high-level executives
- A team player capable of cultivating productive working relationships across the company ensuring interdepartmental interaction and collaboration
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, open to doing what is required for overall team success
- Prior industry experience in the technology or the semiconductor industry is a plus
- Ability to handle and disseminate confidential information in a professional manner
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
- 7+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar role within HR
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to detail and valuing excellence in execution
- Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information
- Certifications in human resources management (SHRM-SCP/ SPHR/CPHR) a plus
