Under direction from the Executive Director, this team member performs professional-level human resources generalist work. In this role, you would be a key member of the community’s leadership team. Supporting about 250 Team Members and 1 HR Assistants, you would carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas – staffing, new hire processing and orientation, employee relations, performance management and compensation administration, payroll, training, safety, employee recognition program administration, workplace investigations, communicating employee benefits, leave administration, ADA interactive process, workers’ compensation claims administration and management, unemployment claims management, and processing and exit interview of terminated employees; maintenance of employee files and records; liaising between the community and the corporate office for human resources.
This position requires on-site presence at the White Sands community in La Jolla, CA. Pay range is 90k-110K, depending on experience.
- Directs implementation of human resources policies, programs and procedures;
- Manages compensation administration, benefits communication, staffing, employee relations, and training and development programs according to RCFE, ABE, OSHA and State regulations;
- Advises management and employees on questions or problems about human resources;
- Develops and provides training in HR procedures and systems to all levels as appropriate in applying personnel policies, guidelines in Employee Handbook and Employee rules for community and applicable labor laws;
- Directs preparation and distribution of written and oral information to advise employees of benefits programs, such as insurance and retirement plans, paid time off, bonus pay etc
- Manages unemployment claims, acting as employer representative in unemployment hearings and partnering with third-party administrator for resolution;
- Keeps expenses in department within annual budget guidelines;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to Human Resources work (Sociology, Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, Industrial/Labor Relations);
- Three to five years of progressive and directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience in employee and labor relations, delivering and implementing HR programs.
- PHR/SPHR Preferred
