Primary Responsibilities
HDR is seeking a passionate and creative Senior Graphic Designer to work with our Strategic Communications team. This position will work to deliver solutions across web, mobile, and print design platforms in order to engage and empower our clients and the communities they serve. Working with multiple clients across numerous industries, opportunities include crafting and delivering advertising campaigns, designing websites and print materials, and creating robust brand packages that inspire and engage.

Responsibilities
- This role is for a highly creative, driven designer that requires an uncommon blend of design acumen and real-world strategy consulting expertise to guide teams to re-imagine complex problems that result in innovative design solutions.
- Develop compelling, professional visual design that informs and educates clients, stakeholders, and the public about community projects.
- Interpret and distill highly technical information for easy understanding by mainstream audiences.
- Create a wide range of collateral for internal and external audiences, including digital graphics (social media graphics, email campaigns, surveys, and presentations); support interactive media production (assets for gifs, video); and branding (logos, style guides); and traditional print graphics (exhibits, flyers, direct mailers; large-scale design reports; and technical and illustrative maps).
- Think strategically about how, why, and when users interact with content throughout the lifespan of the project.
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions acting as the catalyst that mixes ideas, pushes concepts, and finds the best way to meet the client's needs with compelling, innovative creative executions.
- Present design solutions, coordinate client feedback, and balance workload across multiple deadlines to develop creative, high-quality deliverables.
- Ensure quality control through approval of proofs and review of materials.
- May manage other designers and teams within a project or team.
- Manages workflow and processes to create efficiencies and increase productivity. Leads initiatives and systems that support the graphics team.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Fine Arts or related field of study or equivalent experience
- 7+ years professional experience
- Strong knowledge in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Additional skills may include Premiere, After Effects and Audition; ability and experience working on strategic campaigns; basic use of XML and JavaScript
- Strong portfolio showing ability to design in a wide variety of styles; eye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etc
- An understanding of branding/brand development and implementation, communications and research
- Offset printing/digital printing/color correction; ability to coordinate complex projects
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
- Ability to travel
