Job Description:
We are seeking a highly-skilled candidate to design and implement a new web based application that will support HPE Slingshot initiatives. This is a unique, exciting and fun opportunity to get in on the early stages and provide technical guidance.
How You'll Make Your Mark
- Leads a project team of other software engineers and comfortable working in a team based environment
- Demonstrate being able to take a high level feature and provide task breakdowns and accurate timeframe deliverables.
- The candidate should be comfortable writing Functional Specs ,Design Documents and/or Wire Diagrams.
- Collaborates and communicates with management regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced engineers.
About You
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- Typically 4-6+ years experience.
- Someone who has a solid understanding of web technologies and wants to help design, implement, launch, and scale major systems and user-facing features
- At least 4-6+ years of full-stack experience, with at least 3+ years of that experience using Python, and 2+ years using Django or similar framework
- Strong knowledge of designing SQL (writing and optimizing queries) and/or NOSQL database schemas
- 2+ years experience with the Django web framework or other Python-Web Based frameworks also considered
- Ability to develop applications using a test-driven approach in Django/Python
- Expert-level experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Ability to run/administer Linux servers, especially on cloud platforms like AWS, Linode, environments
- Experience with REST, JSON, etc
- Version control using Git on BitBucket
- Familiarity with Agile best practices
- Able to solve problems in a simple, neat, and organized way
- Knowledge of Bootstrap 3 and React/Angular/Vue
- Project management using Jira, Trello, Asana, etc
- API design experience
- Experience with Nginx/Apache
- Experience scaling various aspects of the modern web stack
- Nice to have: Knowledge of graph databases a plus
