THE TEAM

Make-A-Wish America is the national headquarters for our organization, providing resources and support for our 60 Chapters around the country. The Information Technology team is comprised of a diverse team of technologists responsible for building and operating the technologies that enable Make-A-Wish to grant the wish of every eligible child. The Information Technology team is focused on providing innovative solutions across these key areas: Operations, Security, Applications, Infrastructure.


THE ROLE

The Senior Director of IT Infrastructure, Security & Operations has a passion for technology and Infrastructure operations, IT Services and Service Management. This role has extensive experience in modernizing and supporting IT Infrastructure environments and strengthening security controls and practices. Provides leadership to a team of IT managers, Service Desk manager, Network Architects and Engineers and manage the company’s technology operations.


WHERE YOU COME IN

As the Senior Director of IT Infrastructure, Security & Operations you will:

  • Evaluate and establish strategic direction for infrastructure priorities, platforms and applications aligned with MAW business strategy that streamline, standardize and strengthen performance, reliability, and scalability across the enterprise.
  • Establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of business strategies.
  • Reports trends on a regular basis to improve security and technology services.
  • Drives security strategy and roadmap, risk register and plans, projects, security training, staff, and communications.
  • Management of vendor and third-party relationships, including service levels, risk assessments, and compliance requirements.
  • Serves as a security resource to all levels including executive management, department staff, and external bodies.
  • Proactively communicate and report progress, system performance, issues, and risks to the CIO, management, and Program/Product teams.
  • Develop reliable metrics for hardware, software and storage while ensuring strategic capacity planning.
  • Implement and maintain proactive monitoring technologies to ensure system update SLAs are met
  • In collaboration with IT leadership, develop & implement the IT Department strategic plan including drafting KPIs, monitoring and reporting on the plan's performance.
  • Prepare financial budgets and presenting proposals for capital and operational expenditures to senior executives.
  • Directly leads and mentors Infrastructure, Security & Operations staff.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 10 + years professional IT experience with progressive growth in responsibility and scope
  • 5+ years IT people leadership experience building high performing teams through agile methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or relevant field.
