POSITION SUMMARY: The award-winning Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is seeking a Student Financial Services Advisor to work in the Office of Student Financial Services and provide top-notch services to its students.
Responsibilities:
- Counsel and advise students and parents on financial aid application procedures and processing requirements
- Review financial aid forms and supporting documents to insure accuracy and consistency
- Conduct mathematical calculations to determine aid amounts
- Determine applicant eligibility and process education loans
- Follow-up on information needed for application completion
- Coordinate with the Admissions Office Representatives providing an effective and seamless student enrollment process
- Maintain files keeping in compliance with Federal and School regulations
- Other duties as required by Supervisor
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree strongly preferred
- Four years of experience working in a financial aid office within an educational institution
- Ability to effectively communicate instruction in person, via email and telephone
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to function comfortably in a dynamic and highly computerized environment
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- High energy level, ability to work well under pressure
- Highest standards of ethics
The position is full-time and requires flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts,
according to department rotation, which is set in advance.
