Job Description
Working as part of a newly created function, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining Digital Twin Simulations to replicate real-world systems and processes.
You'll play a key role in leading the development and implementation of Digital Twin Simulations for complex systems or processes. You will utilize your experience and expertise to guide the team, ensure technical excellence, and drive innovation in the field of Digital Twin Simulations. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders, provide technical guidance, and contribute to strategic decision-making processes. You will deliver periodic reports and manage expectations of stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities

  • Digital Twin Development: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Digital Twin Simulations to replicate complex systems, processes, or physical assets.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, overseeing their work, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of Digital Twin Simulations.
  • Model Creation and Validation: Develop and validate mathematical models and algorithms to accurately simulate the behaviour and interactions of components within the Digital Twin.
  • Simulation Execution and Optimization: Lead the execution of simulations, considering various factors such as environmental conditions, operational constraints, and system dynamics. Optimize simulation parameters to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Performance Analysis and Optimization: Analyse simulation results, extract meaningful insights, and provide recommendations to optimize system performance, identify areas for improvement, and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, align goals, and ensure the successful integration of Digital Twin Simulations into relevant systems or processes.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and techniques related to Digital Twin Simulations. Drive research initiatives and propose innovative approaches to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of Digital Twin Simulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including simulation methodologies, assumptions, and results. Communicate findings, recommendations, and insights to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage simulation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards. Coordinate resources, delegate tasks, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement and Thought Leadership: Continuously evaluate and improve simulation methodologies, processes, and tools. Share knowledge, best practices, and thought leadership within the organization to enhance the overall capability and maturity of Digital Twin Simulations.

Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Engineering, Computer Science, Science or Mathematics
Specific knowledge in areas such as:
  • Experience in team or project management
  • Systems modelling, control theory, simulation techniques
  • PLC Programming (Rockwell preferred)
  • Robot Programming (Yaskawa preferred)
  • High level proficiency in an object-oriented programming language such as C, C++, C#, Python, Java etc
  • Proficiency in simulation software tools such as Emulate3D, MATLAB, COMSOL
  • Ideally, experience in Digital Simulation, Robotics or 3d Modelling, Factory Automation Systems, AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc... 2d & 3d
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles and understanding of complex systems, processes, or assets.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems and develop simulation models to address them.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in non-technical roles.
  • Meticulousness attention to detail in model creation, data integration, and result analysis to ensure accuracy and reliability of Digital Twin Simulations.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adapt to changing requirements, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work across the world and deal with different cultures and languages.
