Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mid-Level Accountant to join our team and provide financial management support for FEMA Public Assistance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as experience in grant administration, financial analysis, and compliance reporting related to FEMA Public Assistance programs.
Responsibilities:
- Perform financial management and accounting functions for FEMA Public Assistance projects, including budgeting, financial reporting, and cost tracking.
- Review and analyze project budgets, expenditures, and financial transactions to ensure compliance with FEMA regulations and requirements.
- Assist clients in preparing and submitting FEMA Public Assistance grant applications, including budget narratives, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure adherence to approved funding levels and identify variances or discrepancies for corrective action.
- Prepare financial reports and documentation required for FEMA reimbursement requests, including project worksheets (PWs), invoices, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather financial data and documentation necessary for FEMA reimbursement requests.
- Assist clients in conducting procurement activities for FEMA Public Assistance projects, including bid solicitation, contract management, and compliance monitoring.
- Provide training and technical assistance to clients on financial management practices, FEMA Public Assistance regulations, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or grant administration, with a focus on FEMA Public Assistance programs (preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as government grant accounting rules and regulations.
- Experience with financial management systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
