The Business Intelligence Sr. Manager, Insights, Analytics and Planning (IAP), supports the Innovative Medicine and MedTech Sector Engagement Team (SET) which serves as the strategic senior partner management arms of E&PS. The role must translate data, business insights, and partner feedback/guidance into E&PS strategies, programs and capital projects, and prioritized actions that drive the greatest value for J&J. The role works in close partnership with the SET Leads, who are members of the Global E&PS Leadership Team.

This role is responsible for identifying key performance improvement opportunities and developing data driven recommendations in preparation for E&PS-sector alignment sessions. The Business Intelligence Sr. Manager will facilitate monthly SET meetings to digest, prioritize and align on the recommendations from those sessions. The role will track and facilitate execution of follow-ups generated by these meetings, including to the broader E&PS organization (Regions, Functional Excellence Teams, etc.). This role will serve as a core team member for assigned areas of the business and will be adept at stimulating, surfacing, and shaping business opportunities, influencing decisions based on insight, dealing with ambiguity, and collaborating across teams and functions.

A suitable candidate will have demonstrated experience in operations, engineering, and business process development, and is particularly passionate about strategy, execution, data-driven insights and performance management. Critical to success is a deep understanding of data, ability to develop analytics-driven insights, developing and communicating compelling stories with that data and insights to convey the potential value, and excellence at collaborating and leading cross-functionally.

Beyond the SET Leads, key relationships include communication and coordination with the Functional Excellence Teams, E&PS regional leaders from all E&PS functions and often their core team members, to ensure successful implementation and management of E&PS strategy across regions and sites. This role also involves coordination with business customers, particularly the Supply Chain organizations and enabling functional partners (GHS, EHS, Procurement, Global Security, etc).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages partners in recommendations and advocates for appropriate actions to be integrated into the business.
  • Partners closely with data management and digital teams to ensure critical data and insights from the E&PS organization are available and accessible in a timely manner.
  • Effectively blends analytics, creativity and communication skills to identify opportunities, refine with key partners and generate support.
  • Takes full ownership of understanding the business challenge/information needs, considers alternatives, proposes appropriate method/approach, applies standard processes, and considers and/or develops new techniques and innovations to meet objectives.
  • Partners with external organizations to provide industry benchmarking and insights.
  • Develops, drives, and participates in harmonization of IAP processes, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education:

  • University/Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Business, Operations, Project Management, Data Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent required.
  • Professional certifications in Data Analytics, Data Science, and/or Project Management methodologies preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in roles requiring regular interactions with data and customers.
  • Experience navigating large data sets and ability to extrapolate and succinctly summarize and explain highly technical or complex issues to a high-level management audience.
  • Excellent quantitative skills, excellent critical thinking skills and ability to structure problems, so they can be solved.
  • Ability to use insights to weave a narrative that drives action and makes a tangible impact.
  • Experience within global medical device, pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and capable of interacting with E&PS and business leaders.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in either Facilities, Real Estate, or Project Management.
  • Experience in critical business planning processes such as Long Range Financial & Strategic Planning and Annual Budgeting.
  • Experience developing statistical analyses, process maps, and financial models.
  • Experience in performance management and the selection of key performance indicators/metrics.
  • Experience in a role supporting Business or Operations enablement.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.

Other:

  • Proficiency in English Language
  • This position requires up to 25% domestic and/or international travel

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $118,000 to $203,550.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
