Position Title: Senior Project Engineer

Work Location: Gas Tower (555 W 5th Ave Los Angeles, CA)
Remote/Onsite: Hybrid (Thursday and one other day in office)

Education Requirement: BS in and Engineering discipline is required
Certifications: EIT, P.E. License is desired

Top Skills:

• Ideally 10-15 years of relevant experience (5+ years may be considered for a “rising star”)
• Strong experience in Project Engineering
  • Project Manager, Engineering, Engineering Management, Discipline Lead are other relevant disciplines
• Experienced with:
  • Gas pressure regulators, valve automation, control panels
  • P&IDS
• Technology requirements:
  • Fluency with Office 365 Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Click-Up, MS Teams, and Bluebeam
• Must have experience in one or more of the following industries:
  • Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Pipeline (Midstream), or Utilities

Additional Details:

• Control Center Modernization (CCM) program which is a multi-year effort involving several hundred sites, mostly sidewalk vault natural gas pressure regulation facilities, where we are upgrading and adding instrumentation, piping, control valves, SCADA panels, and the like so as to make these facilities monitorable and controllable remotely from a central control room.
• The current CCM Project Engineering team consists of two full-time Company PEs, one part-time Owner’s PE, and one full-time Owner’s Project Coordinator

Day to day responsibilities:

• Manage the work of various engineering firms and lead/coordinate all discipline engineers assigned to the project team
• Serve as the single point of contact for all technical matters and be responsible for the timeliness and quality of all engineering deliverables
• The P.E. sets up and conducts Bluebeam reviews of design packages at the 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC stages and manages the technical activities in the project schedule holding the engineering firm resources accountable to it.
• The P.E. conducts regular status meetings with engineering firms and staff. The P.E. will also review and approve invoices from the firms and will review and manage RFIs and Change Orders.
• It is envisaged that each P.E. will manage some 10 to 15 projects simultaneously.
• This is a full-time position and requires two in-office days per week, Wednesday and Thursday, at the Gas Company Tower in Downtown Los Angeles for a minimum of 4 hours each of those two days.
• There will be occasional site visits requiring PPE. Substantive site visits on any day shall count as an in-office day.
