Edible Inc., part of the Daniel J. Edelman Holdings (DJE) family of companies, has an amazing opportunity for a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our team (priority market: Dallas or Chicago). Edible Inc. is a food and beverage specialized agency focused entirely on the culture, tastes and business of a rapidly changing industry. The Senior Account Executive will support a national animal protein brand, along with a well-known and loved convenience store client. Key to this role will be strong client service skills and the ability to drive forward corporate storytelling strategy and media relations execution rooted in client business needs.
 
This person should be an avid consumer of business and food media to keep ahead and on top of media trends that will shape the corporate stories for their clients. They must have an understanding and ability to quickly learn media tools to identify, track and report against top media opportunities. Additionally, this candidate should have experience or strong understanding of preparing executives for media opportunities and developing and executing strong executive visibility plans. 
 
This position is ideal for an individual looking for a fast-paced, intellectually challenging environment to acquire skills to become a strong food communications practitioner and client advisor. 
Responsibilities:
    • Develop and execute brand and corporate earned media strategies and programs 
    • Uncover brand and corporate stories as part of an ongoing news bureau which entails identify key spokespeople and assets, crafting and pitch food, lifestyle, business and trade media 
    • Developing media backgrounders and spokespeople interview preparation sessions 
    • Support crisis & issues materials development 
    • Accountable to reach media key performance indicators and manage coverage tracker  
    • Contribute to creation of integrated communications plans that meet client objectives 
    • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence 
    • Build relationship with clients and colleague at all levels 
    • Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content 
    • Effectively manage relationships with external partners, including organizations and influencers 
    • Supervise staff junior to you by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback 
    • Commit to continuous learning; set and pursue stretch goals 
    • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with our values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct 
    • Develop and maintain media lists, and relationships, with key reporters and media outlets 
Basic Qualifications:
    • At least three yearsof relevant experience in public relations and/or related fields including advertising, management consulting, public affairs, media and publishing.  
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field 
Preferred Qualifications:
    • Previous agency experience preferred  
    • Fundamental understanding of media relations and the ability to apply experience and initiative in developing appropriate traditional and online media strategies 
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment 
    • Ability to develop communications plans, implement communications tactics and impart knowledge to more junior team members 
    • Intricate level of understanding of the account(s), the clients' businesses, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, opposition, etc. 
    • Solid grasp of all basic public relations tools and how they are used to achieve client goals 
    • Solid research, writing and editing skills 
    • Experience, and/or interest in, pitching and securing media coverage in top-tier outlets 
    • Proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines 
    • Affinity for storytelling and an ability to generate creative ideas, take risks and think big 
$52,000 - $78,000 a year
An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
