Primary Responsibilities
- Inspection, characterization, and documentation of 3D printed metal components.
- Sample preparation and analysis.
- Generate and follow procedures and work instructions.
- Detailed note taking and recording test data.
- Execute imaging and analysis tasks using SEM for high-resolution imaging and elemental analysis.
- Perform FIB milling and micromachining for cross-sections and sample preparation.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to deliver required data.
- Troubleshooting and participation in failure analysis investigations
Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience operating SEM and FIBs for cross-sectioning and inspection of semiconductor devices.
- Proficiency in sample preparation techniques, including coating and mounting.
- Comfortable operating visual inspection equipment such as: optical microscopes and 3D laser profilers.
- Detail oriented, ability to accurately execute precision measurement steps.
- Passionate about cataloging data and compiling reports.
- Creation and improvement of inspection SOPs.
- Excellent note taking, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willing to be trained on new processes.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using hand tools and power equipment (e.g., grinders and polishers).
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years of demonstrated cleanroom and metrology experience with a focus on electron microscopy tools (SEM/FIB)
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Computer engineering, computer science, physics or a related field.
- Knowledge of micro and nanofabrication process flows and root-cause analysis (RCA).
