Summary: Pulmonary Medicines Associates is looking for per diem scribes for our outpatient clinics located in downtown Sacramento, CA and Roseville, CA .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Enter data into the electronic medical record, ensuring the EMR is complete and accurate.
  • Gather and document clinical information from records under the direction of the provider.
  • Perform other duties that improve the efficiency of the provider as requested.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 6 months of related work experience a plus.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Knowledge of basic office equipment should include: Internet and email, copy/ fax machines, and telephone. Experience with an EMR preferred. Certified Medical Scribe Specialists (CMSS) preferred. Credentialed Medical Assistant (RMA, CCMA, CMA) preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A current CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance are required. Current certification in CPR / Basic Life Support (BLS).

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, patients and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files and other correspondence.
  • Ability to work independently and juggle multiple priorities
