Title: Social Worker
Reports to: Principal
Job Summary:
Provides a range of support and resources to students and teachers in the areas of social emotional learning, RtI, technology integration, assessment and best practice teaching strategies. Supports school initiatives, systems and programs.
Qualifications:
1. Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator's License
2. Willingness to sponsor and/or participate in extra-curricular activities
3. Bilingual preferred
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning and directing meetings, staff development, trainings and inservices; communication: listening, feedback, and encouragement for all staff.
- Supervision with students - Assist in: counseling; discipline; data gathering; student recognition; and securing student services.
- Serve as the District PBIS Coordinator.
- Analyze test data, determine ways to improve instruction and student goals.
- Lead the District Social Emotional initiatives.
- Identifies competencies among instructional staff, in collaboration with school administrators, and delivers appropriate coaching, training, and resources to support professional growth of adult learners.
- Plans and collaborates with teachers by exploring various teaching strategies, behavior or academic approaches, or finding resources to support them in their day-to-day teaching.
- Attend and participate in curriculum development, standard alignment, writing of assessments, and effective instructional practices.
- Help teachers develop successful differentiated learning opportunities for students.
- Confers with students, parents, and school personnel to resolve student problems.
- Supports increasing content knowledge of staff in order to improve student achievement.
- Model, co-teach, and coach teachers in the use of effective technology integration strategies
- Attend after school activities.
- Communicates student progress with parents.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Perform the physical tasks necessary to monitor, supervise and physically assist students throughout the school day during a variety of instructional activities. Must be able to function effectively in an active, loud environment. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment as circumstances require.
