Overview:
A Training & Development Coordinator is passionate about building a high-performance team with the technical and soft skills required to provide exceptional experiences to everyone who visits a Sender One facility. As the Training & Development Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and auditing training programs for Customer Experience and Programs departments - across multiple Sender One locations - with a focus on shaping a team that embodies a level of professionalism that sets Sender One apart from other gyms in the rock climbing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, interactive training material related to youth programs, customer experience operations, and risk and safety management
- Deliver training material with a variety of techniques including but not limited to: instructor-led training, video and webinars, and gamification
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, assessments, and observations
- Stay up to date with climbing industry trends, Training and Development best practices, and new techniques related to training and development
- Audit Youth Programs and Customer Experience staff to ensure they are delivering the highest level of competency and professionalism
- Maintenance of training programs, including but not limited to: manuals, presentations, videos, and online resources
- Coordinate with Department Managers to ensure new hires have a smooth transition from their initial training into their department training
- Participate in check ins, identify developmental needs of staff and provide coaching and mentoring as appropriate
- Track performance and development conversations using our HRIS, Paycom
- Schedule new hires for new hire training, 60-day training, and 60-day reviews
- Assist with interviews as needed
- Order & prepare materials for new hire welcome bags
- Foster a work culture of continuous learning and growth across Sender One facilities
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Training & Development Manager
Profile:
- Passionate about learning and training in the climbing, yoga, and fitness industry
- Passionate about working with kids and developing the next generation of climbers
- Advanced knowledge of bouldering, top roping, and lead climbing disciplines as well as associated equipment and techniques

- At least 2 years of experience in Training and Development
- Proven experience in a leadership role developing technical and soft skills others, preferably in the rock climbing gym industry
Industry Experience:
- Strong knowledge of climbing industry
- Experience coaching team members upwards, sideways, and out of an organization
- Experience with recruiting, hiring, training, and developing teams
- Proficiency with Google Suite, including: Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Forms
- Proficiency with online meeting platforms (i.e. Zoom, Google Meets, etc.)
- Knowledge of Rock Gym Pro a plus
- Knowledge of Basecamp a plus
- Knowledge of When I Work a plus
- Knowledge of Paycom a plus
Time Commitment:
- Must be fully available to work at least one weekend day based on business needs (Sat or Sun)
- Must be able to work a minimum of 2 frontline shifts per week (Customer Experience and/or Programs)
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to work on site at various gym locations as assigned by the Training & Development Manager
- Must be available to attend weekly department meetings
- Must be able to attend mandatory all-staff quarterly meetings
- Starting pay range for this position is $22 - $27
- Expected to work ~3 shifts/week in their primary department (Training & Development) w/ ~2 shifts/week in a secondary department (CX, Programs, etc.)
