Responsibilities:
The Safety/Training Manager is responsible for providing site safety leadership across multiple facilities, ensuring compliance with corporate safety standards, implementing safety directives, improving safety performance, and ensuring facility safety policies and procedures align with government regulations and All ABM policies and procedures.
This position will also be responsible for creating and overseeing programs and training to reduce the number of work-related injury occurrences.
Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), and hazardous materials (HAZMAT)
Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
Perform safety audits and inspect facilities, vehicles, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
Essential functions:
- Ability to access computer-based systems to review, and interpret operational data.
- Creates, updates, and maintains Excel Spreadsheets and monthly reports.
- Ensures continuous improvement of safety, security, and quality results by identifying, analyzing, and developing proactive solutions to challenges.
- organizes, Leads, and attends meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Attends employee briefings and effectively communicates safety and quality initiatives
- Trains new and existing employees in safety, security, quality, and job-specific policies and procedures.
- Conducts Company vehicle driver training
- Conducts On-Safety and quality inspections.
- Conducts and documents monthly facility hazard, fire extinguisher, and eye wash station inspections
- Ensures compliance in the areas of post-accident testing and motor vehicle record checks
- Ensures that any injuries, incidents, accidents, and/or irregular operations are documented, reported, and processed appropriately
- Responds to injuries, incidents, accidents, and/or irregular operations.
- Collaborates with local senior leadership for the investigation of injuries, incidents, accidents, and/or irregular operations
- Maintain records related to safety, security, and quality as required including but not limited to database data entry, accident/incident reports, OSHA logs, environmental spills/releases, observations, inspections, audits, etc.
- Inspires and motivates employees while developing the leadership skills of direct reports.
- Communicates effectively, maintains a positive approach to problem-solving, and collaborates with stakeholders to demonstrate continuous improvement
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & Qualifications:
- Two to three (2-3) years of proven operations management experience
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Good customer service skills
- Knowledge of MS Office including word, outlook, excel, and PowerPoint.
- Valid State CDL-Class B with Passenger Endorsement. (2- yrs min with no moving violations)
- Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge and Customs Seal (if applicable), including ten-year work history if available
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Bachelor's Degree - preferred
