The ideal candidate has at least one full year of experience in Aviation Training & Ramp Safety and has flexible availability to work any shift.

WORK DESCRIPTION:
The Trainer & Safety Coordinator position is responsible for overseeing safety procedures in operations. Ensure compliance with company, customers, and regulatory authorities safety standards. Evaluate all policies and procedures related to employee training and safety. Provide training, coaching, on-the-job, or in-classroom training. Enforce and support safety initiatives and procedural requirements to ensure the workforce behaviors are compliant with company expectations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Speak and understand English.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, 10-year background check (criminal/employment) and be able to obtain a required airport security clearance.
  • VALID Driver's License (NOT ID) for at least 1 full year. (License cannot have any restrictions).
  • 1-2 years of experience in Aviation Training & Ramp Safety

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English with written and oral skills.
  • The ability to work as an individual but as part of a team and take direction from supervisory staff.
  • Skills and knowledge of use of personal computer and knowledge various software packages.
  • Strong sense of urgency, organizational skills, self-starter, and professional attitude.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform routine auditing of activity and risk assessments as required.
  • Review and update current and recurrent training documentation in HRIS system.
  • Communicate with Managers on trends and provide solution-based recommendations to maintain a safe operational environment.
  • Oversee the safe and appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to accomplish specific tasks.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports of findings from investigations of accidents or injuries and inspections of facilities.
  • Conduct on the job (OJT) safety training and performance assessments for employees.
  • Practice safe work methods.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed on airfield ramp (inside of the aircraft), which is exposed to outdoor weather conditions (temperatures ranging from 20-105 degrees Fahrenheit) and elevated noise levels.

  • Occasional (1-3hrs): Driving, sitting, and climbing.
  • Frequent (4-6hrs): Bending, squatting/kneeling, pushing/pulling, twisting/turning, and repetitive movement.
  • Constant (7-8hrs): Standing, walking, and reaching.
  • Lifting 20-50lbs max with frequent lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.
