Works with: Operations, Shippers, Receivers, Sales, Safety, Maintenance / Repair Shops, Marketing & Accounting
Overview: We're in search of a skilled candidate to join our team as a Route Account Specialist. Serving as the frontline representative for our organization, Route Account Specialists manage multiple store accounts with daily, weekly, or monthly visits. Responsibilities include delivering and stocking frozen and perishable foods at each account, addressing customer inquiries or concerns, and embodying a customer-centric, results-oriented approach. We're seeking an individual with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a knack for fostering customer satisfaction and anticipation for scheduled deliveries.
Responsibilities include the following:
Essential Functions-
- Understand customer service standards and office etiquette.
- Provide excellent customer service in person or over the phone.
- Drive vehicles and resolve operational issues.
- Perform product delivery and inventory tasks using handheld devices.
- Merchandise displays and ensure proper placement and rotation.
- Collaborate with team members and cover stores when needed.
- Load and unload vehicles daily.
- Maintain safe, clean work areas and comply with safety standards.
- Process order paperwork and payments accurately.
- Collect payments and obtain customer signatures upon delivery.
- Enhance sales efforts.
- Maintain and sanitize company equipment/vehicle(s) daily.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on company vehicle(s): fluid levels, lights, oil checks, tire pressure.
- Maintain a clean, neat appearance with uniform and hair restraint daily.
- Call on prospective customers to request new business.
- Call on existing customers about new products or services.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Skills essential for safe driving, such as maintaining appropriate following distance, maintaining proper eye lead, ensuring adequate stopping distance, thorough checking of intersections, employing the safety wedge technique, appropriate use of the horn, executing left and right turns correctly, consistent use of seat belts, vigilant checking and scanning of mirrors, maintaining a safe speed, adhering to proper lane discipline, and parking in designated areas.
- Communicate professionally with staff.
- Consistently adhere to the full route schedule each day, ensuring all necessary stops are made without omission.
- Keep backrooms tidy, pick up credits regularly, store loads correctly, follow store procedures, and complete paperwork accurately.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education/Experience: High school Diploma or GED required, with a valid driver's license maintained throughout employment. Previous route sales experience preferred but not required.
- Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including reading safety rules, writing correspondence, and speaking effectively to groups, customers, or coworkers.
- Technical Experience: Basic computer skills preferred, familiarity with Integrasys/DSD Manager a plus, and food & beverage experience preferred.
- Office Skills: Competent in average typing and phone etiquette.
- Reasoning Ability: Capable of problem-solving and handling various situations independently, including task prioritization and multitasking
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, balancing, reaching/handling items, and verbal communication. Must lift over 25lbs daily.
- Work Environment: Able to work/drive in various conditions, including rain, snow, and humid temperatures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
