Overview

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).  Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site's Cold War legacy.  Our VISION is to be the user site of choice for large-scale, high-hazard, national security experimentation, with premier facilities and capabilities below ground, on the ground, and in the air. Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is looking for early career/recent graduates interested in a full-time, fast-paced, exciting opportunity to support our major improvement initiatives. The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is responsible for providing the physical infrastructure required to enable leading edge scientific research and development at the Nevada National Security Sites, a federal site located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas and the size of the state of Rhode Island. The team plans, designs, and builds new buildings, roads, and utilities as well as infrastructure upgrades inside nuclear and high-hazard facilities, while maintaining the existing infrastructure.

 

The Infrastructure Senior Directorate is comprised of 6 Directorates: Enterprise Infrastructure Programs (EIP), Project Planning & Delivery (PP&D), Engineering, Construction, Maintenance & Critical Site Infrastructure, and Essential Site Services.

 

Participants in the Infrastructure rotational program are full time employees. Rotational assignments are based on individual education, experience, and interests, as well as company needs. We provide opportunities to work with and connect with other organizations within the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support on one or more project(s) under the overall guidance of a senior level Project Manager (<$5M TPC).  
  • Participate in all aspects of the project(s) over the entire life-cycle (initiation, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing).
  • Use MSTS project management processes, techniques, and tools.
  • Coordinate work efforts through interaction with peers, project leaders, and supervisor
  • Accept individual responsibility and accountability for environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control, personal safety, and the safety of co-workers

  • Perform other duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications

Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent training and experience and 2 years' related professional experience.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in the following fields:
    • Project Management
    • Construction Management
    • Business Management
    • Facility Management
  • Previous project management experience and responsibilities should include:
    • Managing small projects (<$5M TPC) and project teams (<10 people) through representative project lifecycle phases.
    • Define, plan, execute, monitor, control, and successfully complete discrete elements of scope in accordance with defined schedule, costs, risk, and quality constraints.

    • Maintain satisfaction of stakeholders with differing needs and expectations.
    • Manage communications between project stakeholders and team members.
    • Identify and comply with project requirements in development of products and deliverables.
    • Manage the project team in successfully achieving project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Evaluate alternatives and identify solutions using systematic, multi-step approaches.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate discussion and resolve conflicts within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) and with stakeholders. Establish trust among IPT members. Build and use cross-functional relationships to accomplish tasks. Establish and manage small IPTs (<10 people).
  • Decision-Making: Demonstrate effective decision-making skills, including knowledge of how and when to escalate issues to higher levels.
  • The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Work at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada) may be required in support of these functions.

  • Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change based).
  • Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, 'Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, 'Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'

Annual salary range for this position is: $71,572.80 - $107,369.60.

Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
