GeoSearch is currently recruiting for a talented GIS Project Manager.As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of technology and GIS projects with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to client specifications. Your knowledge of the transportation industry and expertise with geospatial technologies will be essential in driving the success of our innovative solutions and award-winning initiatives. This position is a remote position but will require you be in Nevada regularly...you MUST be in the Pacific time zone or able to relocate to Carson City, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying, planning, and executing the scope, schedule, and budget of innovative projects
- Establishing an environment focused on collaborative teamwork, effective project controls, and client-focused solutions
- Working effectively with clients, partner companies, and senior management as needed to pursue and close new business
- Maintaining an on-site presence with clients as warranted by the project
- Collaborate with stakeholders to determine project scope and objectives, clarifying requirements and translating them into technical specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project implementation, resources allocation, and timely issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including project plans, project schedules, risk assessments, and status reports.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure deliverables meet industry standards and client expectations.
- Lead and mentor project team members, providing guidance and support throughout project lifecycles.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) required in a related major or course of study
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification such as PMI
- 5 to 7 years of project management experience preferably in an IT and/or GIS consulting / professional services environment, and/or equivalent time working in a similar role for a transportation agency
- 2 years of experience managing people
- Ability to manage multiple projects with varying task priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with outstanding listening abilities
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external project stakeholders
- Demonstratable experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Use and familiarity with Esri software ecosystem
- Experience with technology solutions involving data visualization, data analytics, and system integrations
- Working knowledge of state government agencies and organizations (transportation, environmental, utilities, energy)
- High comfort level in approaching and building trusted relationships with clients
- Skills with project estimating and proposal management/development
One or more of the following certifications preferred
- Certified Project Manager (CPM)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
- Geographical Information Systems Professional (GISP)
Salary range: 100-130K
