This internship opportunity will provide professional training and experience to students interested in advancing their skills in the field of nonprofit Resource Development. The Resource Development Intern will various projects to support the overall administrative department goals of Resource Development and Marketing. They will work on special events sponsored by the agency to fulfill the agency's strategic objectives, fundraising events, and other Resource Development initiatives. They will also lead communication with all constituencies, including donors, board members, staff and general public, through written and verbal communications. The Resource Development Intern will receive training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.
Internship Highlights
- Support the maintenance of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge/NXT donor database for Resource Development department by overseeing all critical decisions on gift coding, gift entering, running reports, and determining how RD staff can best utilize the database for all aspects of fundraising.
- Support the agency-wide annual Holiday Magic Program by identifying appropriate gift sponsors, collecting participant wish lists from programs, and facilitating all contact between sponsors and programs. Coordinate receipt of over 900 gifts each year and distribute to program staff. Enters gifts into database and create/distribute sponsor thank you letters. Oversees donation acknowledgement process throughout the year.
- Provides support to the Advancement Officer with volunteer onboarding, orientation, track service hours and other adhoc projects related to volunteers.
- Provides administrative support for both Resource Development and Marketing departments: developing and executing departmental memorandums as needed, working with the Accounting department to prepare necessary information for supply requisition requests.
- Supports Community Partnership Coordinator with circulating internal grant request approvals on behalf of grant writers and produce grant writings for grans under $5,000.
- Works on other Adhoc projects as assigned by the Vice President of Advancement.
