Department Information
The mission of the School of Biological Sciences is to conduct exceptional research at the leading edge of biological sciences and to provide high quality, innovative education for undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty, staff and students will strive to produce significant new knowledge and translate these discoveries into benefits for human and environmental health. These discoveries will be shared with the public and private sector so that this knowledge can benefit science education, government policy, and economic development in Georgia and throughout the world.
Perform a variety of technical activities required for conducting tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the Institute. Includes data collection and analyses, experiment preparation and equipment setup and operation. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience
B.S. or M.S. degree in biological sciences or related field.
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesSKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of research lab equipment and support processes and practices. Includes skill in data organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and scientific computer applications.

Salary range: $20.00-23.00 / per hour

This position is 50% FTE and will be scheduled to work an average of 20 hours per week. This part-time position is eligible for partial benefits, which includes retirement and pro-rated leave accruals. This part-time Research Technician II will perform bioinformatics analysis of transcriptomes and epigenomics data as well as the automation and optimization of our in-house bioinformatics computational tools/pipelines.
