Department Information
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the Georgia Institute of Technology is one of the largest producers of electrical engineers and computer engineers in the United States. Almost 2,600 students are enrolled in the Schools graduate and undergraduate programs, and in the last academic year, 801 degrees were awarded. All ECE undergraduate and graduate programs are in the top five of the most recent college rankings by U.S. News & World Report.

In addition to the main campus in Atlanta, Georgia, ECE also has permanent operations at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in France and Georgia Tech-Shenzhen in China. Graduate students who spend at least one semester each at three Georgia Tech locations (Atlanta, Lorraine, and Shenzhen on three continents: North America, Europe, and Asia) can earn the Georgia Tech Global Engineering Immersion Program (GEIP) Certificate when they receive the Georgia Tech M.S. degree.

Over 110 ECE faculty members are involved in 11 areas of research and education bio engineering, computer systems and software, digital signal processing, electrical energy, electromagnetic, electronic design and applications, nantechnology, optics and pho tonics, systems and controls, telecommunications, and VLSI systems and digital design and the School is either home to or a key player in almost 20 research centers and consortia.

Job Summary

Provide advanced professional level support to a school or research laboratory within the Institute in conducting and reporting results of often highly complex tests and experiments. Includes leading or coordinating experiment design, lab testing processes and analysis and presentation of data. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position typically will advise and counsel: academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position will supervise: NA.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Compile and analyze tests data and report findings.
Job Duty 2 -
Prepare or coordinate the preparation of statistical analyses and maintenance of related databases.
Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate maintenance of research equipment and facilities and purchase of supplies.
Job Duty 4 -
Investigate and propose alternative experiment procedures.
Job Duty 5 -
Conduct experiment design and preparation
Job Duty 6 -
Prepare presentations and manuscripts.
Job Duty 7 -
Train in laboratory processes and proper use of laboratory equipment.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Position requires ability to be responsive to diverse client groups, to be flexible with changing deadlines and priorities, and possess understanding of university culture.
Required Experience
Three to four years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced working knowledge of the principles and practices of scientific testing and experimentation and related laboratory operations. Includes skill in data organization, management and evaluation; statistical analysis; project organization; and, use of advanced statistical and scientific computer applications.

Salary range: $48,677.00- $52,000.00
