Department Information
The School of Physics at Georgia Tech currently has 63 academic (Tenure Track and Non Tenure Track) and research faculty, and its graduate program is ranked 21st in the nation by US News and World Report. The School has a broad research program with strengths in astrophysics, condensed matter, atomic, molecular and optical physics, physics of living systems, nonlinear science and soft matter physics. The School is also a key player in interdisciplinary initiatives established within Georgia Tech, such as quantum systems, neuroscience, microbial dynamics, planetary sciences, and data science/machine learning. Its diverse student body comprises more than 130 graduate students and 275 undergraduate majors
Provide basic technical support services required for conducting tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the Institute. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
ResponsibilitiesJob Duty 1 -
Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc

Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests

Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.

Operate various equipment used in research studies.

The Research Technician I - Limited Term, will be responsible for conducting experiments and analysis on collective robophysics dynamics, combining insights from soft matter physics and distributed algorithms. Candidate will develop membrane bound robophysical model and control schemes to negotiate malleable terrain. Candidate will also assist on localization in disordered environments project. Candidate will be responsible for presenting progress weekly at lab meetings and will help prepare journal papers and talks to disseminate work.
