The Details: 

 Location: Hybrid work Headquartered in Downtown Seattle, remote work possible from AZ, CA, CO, ID, FL, OR, TN, VA, WA.

Work Schedule: Our typical business hours are 8:30-5:00 PT Monday-Friday.

Travel Requirements: Up to 15%

Physical Requirements: Must be able to work on a computer screen for long periods of the day. 

 

About the Position: 
Reporting to the Manager of Research Operations, the Research Operations Program Strategist I will support the Research, Insights and Innovation department (RII) through process and systems improvement, caregiver outreach, research communications and project management of complex research projects. RII is a group of researchers and operations staff who approach problems with curiosity and value kindness, humor and integrity. We focus on a wide variety of topics, including adult training, healthcare and wellness, occupational safety, retirement benefits and much more related to the caregiver experience. Occasional day trips and overnight stays is required as the population we serve is spread out across the Pacific Northwest, though it is estimated to be no more than 15%.

 

You Will:

  • Recruit research participants via email, telephone, social media, tabling or community outreach, in-person/online event participation, marketing campaigns, etc.;
  • Develop and maintain standardized systems for end-to-end research recruitment and operations, including database systems and standard operating procedures;
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders about research projects, process improvements and other projects/issues relevant to RII;
  • Lead on project management for research projects, including creating and maintaining accurate timelines, taking meeting notes, completing appropriate documentation and communicating with all necessary parties;
  • Provide regular status updates to project owners and other collaborators on progress toward meeting target recruitment goals and identifying any risks to the project and escalating, where appropriate;
  • Support RII in qualitative and/or quantitative data collection activities, such as simple survey programming, web research around topics such as engagement strategies and culturally competent research, and interviewing/focus group facilitation or note taking;
  • Develop professional relationships with community groups including SEIU 775, employers, state agencies, consumer advocacy groups and all internal departments within the Benefits Group, to help support the department in creating culturally responsive research materials and enhancing recruitment strategies and procedures;
  • Prepare reports and presentations for key stakeholders;
  • Maintain HIPAA and human subject research compliance (or any other required certificates) on privacy and security of project participants’ information;
  • Assist with training and supporting staff and contractors/vendors with recruitment, as needed;
  • Lead on qualitative research fielding with support from other Research, Insights and Innovation staff or managers, as needed;
  • From time-to-time, perform other duties commensurate with the level of this position.

You Will Need to Have:

  • Written and conversational fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Russian, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Ukrainian, Arabic, or Somali;
  • 1+ years of experience working with information subject to privacy regulations such as HIPAA, FERPA, etc.;
  • 1-3+ years of working and being comfortable recruiting via phone, email and in person and a love of talking with people to learn their story and/or connect them with programs, services and supports;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as on a team while exercising discretion and independent judgement;
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve and generate process improvements to new and established systems and processes;
  • Ability to communicate technical and complex processes through clear and concise oral and written communication;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as a high comfort level in giving and receiving constructive feedback;
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel;
  • Experience with Confluence, Smartsheet, Tableau, Qualtrics, and/or Salesforce, or an eagerness to learn;
  • Great personal planning, motivation, and time management skills and attention to detail;
  • Willingness to occasionally work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends and ability to travel, including occasional travel throughout WA, which could include overnight travel and assignments.

 It Will Be Great if You Have:

  • Experience in community organizing, community relations and/or community engagement;
  • Experience with caregiving, nonprofits, or labor unions;
  • Experience with culturally sustainable communication, recruitment and engagement strategies;
  • Experience with using elements of graphic design for written communications and/or presentations;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or experience can substitute for education.

Salary Range:

  • $74,835.00 to $94,798.74
