The Research Coordinator will work with a senior coordinator in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, of which will work in collaboration to ensure successful execution of protocols and clinical trials. In this position the candidate will be primarily responsible for screening, enrollment, follow-up of research subjects and data entry of clinical trials. Ensures accurate data collection, documentation, organization and safety of research participants and coordinates IRB protocols with other sites on multi-site studies.
You must be comfortable talking with patients, who are predominantly pregnant women living with HIV. Ideal candidate will have research interests include the intersection of social determinants of health and medical care, improving retention in HIV care after delivery, and reducing stigma among women living with HIV.
Job Duties
- Screens, recruits, interviews, and randomizes patients for study; explains process and procedures to educate participant regarding the research study.
- Follows up patients from different study groups; monitors and reports potential adverse events in time.
- Collects patient information from interviews and EPIC; processes documents and enters information into a computerized database.
- Collects, processes, and transports the blood/biological specimens according to procedures outlined in study protocol; maintain paperwork for specimens.
- Corresponds with patient throughout study; keeps all required trainings and certificates up-to-date.
- Meets weekly with principal investigator to provide updates on studies/protocols; enters data for IRB renewals and new protocols.
- Working Conditions and Occupational Risks: Work is located in busy patient clinics, patient interaction and interaction with other employees is required

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience in a clinical setting, customer service and phlebotomy training are strongly preferred.
- Experience with clinical research and/or public health.
