Research assistant to work on the MIRRORS+ Project as part of the Evaluation Team. The project is SAMHSA funded project to evaluate services provided to pregnant and post-partum women with substance use problems at Santa Maria Hostel in Houston, Texas. James H. Bray, Ph.D. is the Project Evaluator (jhbray@central.uh.edu).
General duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Enter data into EXCEL and SPSS databases.
- Maintain Excel data dashboard.
- Enter data and prepare reports in the SPARS SAMHSA system.
- Collect data from participants.
- Assist with interviewing participants.
- Track participants.
- Review research materials.
- Help prepare required reports and publications for the project.
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
- Attend project meetings.
Skills/Knowledge required: excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills, grammar and spelling: Must be skilled in all Microsoft Office products for Windows, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SPSS. Desired skills are advanced statistical training and able to do longitudinal data analyses.
Ability to work well with others and work with multiple professionals is required. Attention to detail is very important. Selected applicant is required to travel to and from Santa Maria Hostel. Position is 50-60% FTE and includes some benefits.
