Research And Development Technician

Element6's client in Rockton, IL is looking for a Research and Development Technician to join their team. The RD Technician reports to the Director of Product Development and provides design engineering guidance from a manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly perspective for new product development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Assists the Design Team with conceptual and detail ideas.
• Confers with the Design Team in planning of Research and prototype testing.
• Maintains a high level of communication between the Design Team and the manufacturing areas concerning specific component designs to maximize practicality of new products.
• Carries out laboratory testing.
• Assists with field installation and testing of new products.

OTHER DUTIES:

• Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows safe work practice rules.
• Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.

CONTACTS:

Internal: Regular (31-45%)

Contacts involve preliminary settlement of transactions of a limited controversial nature.

External: Occasional (6-15%)

Contacts are routine and require obtaining or giving information or service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience: 8-10 years related work experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Manual Dexterity: Work requires moderate speed and accuracy.
• Physical Effort: Work requires handling average weight materials or equipment.
• Working Conditions: Occasional exposure to moderately disagreeable features.
• Hazards: Possibility of accidents of a minor nature requiring first aid.
