Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Recruiting Specialist will coordinate the hiring process with college students at universities and create a partnership with College Career Advisors and College Department Heads. The Recruiting Specialist will plan visits, secure internships, recruit pre-graduation prospects and work with the hiring managers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the internship sourcing and placement for Maryville Academy.
- Reach out to and follow up with viable employment candidates on college campuses across the Midwest.
- Coordinate interviews with college candidates.
- Recommend quality hires.
- Track the hiring process with in-depth updates on a monthly basis.
- Research, plan and manage a full-cycle recruitment strategy including sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and pre-boarding college level prospects.
- Attend community and college career fairs and develop working partnerships with strategically selected colleges and professional groups.
- Schedule on campus interviews.
- Collaborate with the hiring manager and/or other human resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, start dates, and other pertinent details.
- Perform reference and background checks on applicants.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in continued performance and quality improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, Marketing, Human Resources, Liberal Arts, or a related field from an accredited institution, preferred.
- Entry level position
Skills/Knowledge:
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to develop a knowledge of, and personal commitment to, the philosophy and mission of Maryville Academy.
- Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
- Ability to consistently safeguard the confidentiality of employee information processed by the Human Resources Department.
- Excellent computer skills especially using the Microsoft Office Suite of products,
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational, analytical, time-management, and decision-making qualities.
- Knowledge of business writing principles and practices.
- Ability to establish respectful and collaborative relationships.
- Ability to represent Maryville to the general public in a responsible, respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate a cooperative spirit.
Physical Demands:
- Required to drive/ travel to University and College campuses in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
- Required to frequently sit, stand, bend, stoop and walk, sometimes for extended periods; ability to walk up and down stairs.
- Required to lift/move objects weighing a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Must have visual, hearing, manual dexterity, and learning capabilities sufficient to perform essential functions defined.
HIPAA Privacy Training and Sanctions:
All employees who have access to health information whose confidentiality is protected by the HIPAA Privacy Rule are required by the Rule to receive training so that they have an understanding and knowledge of the Privacy Rule that corresponds to their job responsibilities and of the group health plan’s policies and procedures that impact on their job duties. Site specific training on requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and the plan’s health information policies and procedures under the direction of the plan Privacy Officer may be required for this position based upon site specific requirements. Employees who violate the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Rule will be subject to discipline, up to and including termination.
