Overview:The Recreation Assistant will assist with all duties pertaining to the Fitness Center, Pool, Boat House, Locker Rooms, Educational programs, and other recreational activities.
- Provide hospitable service and assistance to our guests in accordance with all of The Stonewall Resort’s customer service standards.
- Carry out the policies and procedures of Stonewall Resort and Pyramid Global Hospitality, while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and a teamwork atmosphere.
- Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform all duties in a professional manner and in accordance with company policies.
- Ability to greet customers on the telephone and face-to-face in a pleasant, welcoming manner.
- Always practice the service communication skills- ensuring Four Diamond Service. And provide “Be The Difference” focus.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand.
- Maintain uniform and grooming standards in employee handbook and departmental training.
- Follow procedures for opening the Fitness/Recreation Area and be ready for operation five minutes prior to opening.
- Daily check all outdoor equipment (e.g. kayaks) for proper safety.
- Full knowledge on telephone answering, fitness equipment, pool, boat house, educational programs, recreational activities, excursion boat and locker room procedures.
- Provide guests with general information (directions, hours of operation, etc).
- To be able to operate and understand the Infogenesis System.
- Assist guests with all requests pertaining to Fitness Center, Boat House, Educational program, excursion boat and recreational activities.
- To be knowledgeable with all services within the hotel.
- Follow procedures for closing the Fitness/Recreation Area and Boat House.
- Follow procedures securing all merchandise.
- Follow procedures for cash handling of house banks in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in operations of all holiday activities, educational programs, and recreational activities.
- Ensure a clean, safe and orderly work area.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Provide assistance in other job classifications as determined necessary by immediate supervisor.
- Ability to work in a busy atmosphere, meet deadlines, and maintain excellent customer service.
- Must be able to operate, understand, and train staff to use Infogenesis System.
- Must Train Staff and ensure procedures are established and followed for all recreational outlets.
- Complete weekly scheduling of staff to be approved by Manager.
TOOLS, MACHINES, AND/OR EQUIPMENT USED
Micros point-of-sale system, multi-line phone system, voice mail system, photocopier, pontoon boat, kayaks, canoes, paddleboats, Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Pleasant speaking voice, excellent verbal communication skills.
- Professional and polished customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently.
- Energetic personality.
- Must be able to work with children.
