Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Parks and Recreation to join our team. As the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Parks and Recreation department, including program development, program management, and relationship management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the supervision, planning and scheduling of a comprehensive year-round city Parks and Recreation program.

Duties:

- Manage and supervise a team of Parks and Recreation staff members

- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure effective program delivery

- Conduct assessments to determine individual needs and develop personalized plans

- Monitor program outcomes and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement

- Provide guidance and support to staff in implementing person-centered approaches

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards

- Oversee budgeting and financial management for the Parks and Recreation department

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, leisure studies or related field and 3 years experience in planning and administering recreational programs and activities.

- Strong knowledge of leaderhip practices and principles

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, staff, and community partners

- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team and promote professional growth

- Strong administrative skills, including budgeting, planning, and reporting

- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the field of Parks and Recreation

-First aid and CPR certified prefered

-Municipal swimming pool operation experience preferred
