- Must have knowledge of general communication system operations obtained through experience or training.
- Must answer calls and questions with a clear, well modulated voice, using good grammatical construction.
- Must be familiar with names, locations and functions of personnel served; and to understand and execute emergency procedures (fire drills, medical emergencies, tornado alerts, lock downs and bomb threats, etc.)

- maintaining confidentiality of all appointments, meetings and other communications.
- providing reception services by giving routine direction to building locations and /or information regarding school/district functions.
- working understanding of varying building needs and priorities.
- providing assistance to central administration staff by performing general support as approved by the Associate Superintendent for Human Resources.
- monitoring the building’s ID/Fob system
- placing emergency calls as needed.
