Position Summary:
Responsible for quality assurance functions such as carrying out all duties as listed below and all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Accurate and timely documentations on quality checks:
- Performs daily quality check every morning/every changeover.
- Performs 30-minute quality checks on production line (Finished Goods, machine settings).
- Performs a safety (and food safety) audit once a month.
- Takes pictures, documents quality hold items, and delivers to the appropriate personnel.
- Discards all LPK waste daily following CGMP guidelines.
- Audits and signs Shift Leads’ paperwork.
- Responsible for any quality hold re-work. Completes investigation report with pictures and ensures the re-work is done.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and company processes related to Food Safety and Food Defense.
- Works with personnel in production and admin departments.
- Performs pre-production allergen-changeover verifications for each new production line.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Verifies all documentation, runs reports, performs monthly calibrations, manages weekly returns, setups food bank as needed, monitor pest control, etc. (Level 2)
Requirements:
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- College degree in a related field a plus.
- Years of experience: Level 1: 0-2 years of Quality Technician work experience. Level 2: 3 or 3+ years of Quality Technician work experience and administrative experience.
- Able to perform all QC test methods.
- Quality certification preferred.
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to work independently, taking initiative to complete tasks without constant oversight.
- Ability to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) and internet.
- Teamwork-oriented.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Nulogy or other WMS system experience a plus.
- The associate must know and follow proper safety and CGMP protocols; know and follow company’s grooming, hygiene, and dress code policies, including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety and food safety compliance.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
- The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
- The job requires lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds as well as reaching, standing, sitting, and walking.
- This job requires working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
- This job may require working extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed to meet customer requirements.
- This job requires standing and walking for long periods of time and may perform tasks at heights.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
