Key Responsibilities:
- The person in this position is responsible for safely performing tasks involving the handling and testing of finished substrates such as non-woven products and consumer products based on approved standard test methods (STMs).
- The successful candidate must be able to perform basic quality assurance by performing simple, standard analysis on provided samples.
- They must be willing to support the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment as required.
- They must be able to thoroughly document results in compliance with site requirements and provide test results to researchers.
- They must be willing and capable of operating within all guidelines regarding safety, conduct, and attendance.
- This position reports to and receives primary work direction from the GNW Lab Supervisor but they must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Required Keywords:(TECHNICIAN OR ANALYST OR RESEARCHER OR ASSISTANT OR COORDINATOR) And (LAB OR LABORATORY) AND (quality or TEST OR TESTING) AND (MTS OR TENSILE OR COMPRESSION OR MATERIAL OR PRODUCT OR WOVEN)
- Must have at least a High school diploma or equivalent plus 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Must possess the ability to adapt to frequent changes.
- Must have a basic knowledge and capability to use computers. Must have experience with the Microsoft Windows platform and the Microsoft Office suite of software applications.
- This position requires a high degree of initiative, the ability to self-coordinate and work cooperatively with others and be able to make decisions and recommendations.
- Experience with MTS Criterion Tensile frame instrumentation and MTS Test Suites software highly preferred.
- Physical requirements include:
- Ability to stand and walk frequently throughout the day.
- Ability to reach, bend, squat, etc. frequently throughout the day.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 35 lbs) as required.
- Ability to use small hand tools.
- Must be willing to participate in pilots for the Lab including test method development and competitive testing.
- Must be willing to support pilots for test method validation and competitive testing.
- Safety and Housekeeping Expectations:
- Must be willing to comply with all company safety and housekeeping guidelines for the laboratory.
- Must be willing to follow all laboratory work instructions and share ideas around potential updates or recommendations as needed.
