Georgia-Pacific's Leaf River Cellulose mill is hiring an experienced Quality Manager to join our team. As a member of the plant leadership team, the Quality Manger partners with operations to drive sustainable quality processes and systems.

Our Team

The Leaf River Cellulose Mill is a large paper plant, north of New Augusta, Mississippi. They produce filter grade pulp and market pulp, which is used in the manufacturing of coffee filters, vacuum cleaner bags, automotive filters, printing paper, tissue paper, and coated paper.

What You Will Do

  • Provide leadership and coaching to employees through a shared Quality vision for the operation.
  • Work with Operations and the corporate Quality to ensure VoC needs align with matching VoP for specifications and other customer quality needs.
  • Foster a quality driven mindset building a quality culture and capability in team members.
  • Drive actions to meet Quality KPIs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with strategic customers to become their preferred partner.
  • Champion Product Safety/Quality certification programs.
  • Lead quality process improvements and driving to a zero-defect culture with use of technology and analytical tools.
  • Lead facility root cause and corrective action process, with a mindset for eliminating future defects, and providing timely resolution to customers.
  • Participate in regional teams to audit the processes of other facilities, warehouses, and co-manufacturers.
  • A ssure supplier quality is meeting our needs to produce quality products.
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance in a way that informs leadership of the critical few opportunities to focus on, with recommended actions.
  • Part of and contributing to a global community of quality leaders to leverage knowledge and build a transformational quality system that achieves our vision.
  • Travel per needs of the business (estimated up to 25% of the time).

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience managing quality and process improvements in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical environment.
  • Experience managing defects and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Experience with managing third party audits and certifications of quality and product safety systems.
  • Experience managing data analysis to drive continuous improvement.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in science
  • Experience in the pulp and paper industry
  • ISO knowledge/experience
  • Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Quality Management System (QMS) experience
