Your Role at Baxter

This role manages multiple subordinates in the Critical System, and Calibration Departments. You will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and advising work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and resolving problems.
You will plan, supervise, prioritize, and implement activities related with Critical Systems (including clean utilities, environmental controls and monitoring, pest control and calibration) to provide technical support and coordinate activities and projects for operations for areas of responsibility. Responsibilities include validation/ qualification activities, data analysis, system and process design, and audit support.
The primary end result of this position is to assure all activities carried out through the site are properly executed in accordance with FDA guidelines and meet the overall business priorities and schedules.

The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 - $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than that of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. What you'll be doing
- Manage the activities of the chemistry laboratory and process validation with responsibility for results in terms of product quality, performance and safety. Implements the quality systems procedures and manages compliance in a section or department.
- Understands and assures conformance to regulations in the Chemistry laboratory.
- Interfaces with regulators during regulatory inspections.
- May participate in or manage quality assessments of internal operations and suppliers to analyze compliance and assess risk.
- Interacts frequently with subordinate supervisors and functional peer group managers.
- Identifies and manages continuous improvement projects with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements.
- Develops budget for the department and ensures adherence to the budget.
- Manages the coaching, training and development process of subordinates.
- Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles
- Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
What you will bring
- BS degree required. Concentration in Chemistry, preferably.
- 10+ years of professional experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field which should include at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of applicable procedures, specifications, regulations and standards.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage/supervise a team of employees.
