Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Lead to support our team in Houston, TX. The Quality Lead will report to the Quality Manager, and ensure Wood's quality policies and practices are adopted, and that all quality principles, systems and measures across a program or project are applied effectively.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry, specifically in the quality of manufactured equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping control business related risks in a global organization, and interface with internal and external stakeholders on a variety of projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Apply expert knowledge and skills to generate and promote a positive Quality culture.
- Manage and guide QA/QC activities during execution of projects in a manner that achieves the project quality requirements, and meets the Wood quality standards, and cost, and schedule targets.
- Develop, maintain, and update as required, theproject team'sProject Quality Plan (PQP) or program.
- Develop, maintain, and update as required, allquality related templates, process flow charts, work instructions, etc. for the project teams.
- Review and approve project deliverables including Scope of Work, POQR/SDRL, and Criticality Rating.
- Review and comment on supplier Welding Procedures, NDE Procedures, Coating Procedures, ITPs, databooks, and other documents.
- Oversee the fabrication, testing, inspection, and monitoring, of subsea equipment to ensure client and industry standards are met.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve issues and NCRs. Review and follow up CAR actions to eliminate reoccurrence.
- Conduct project audits and prepare audit reports, during different stages of project execution.
- Coordinate project Lessons Learned sessions to ensure historical learnings are reviewed at the beginning and end of projects, and ensure that new learnings are timely captured.
- Compile project KPIs and drive continuous improvement across all projects.
- Support business development, tender preparation, and proposal activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- University bachelor's degree is required, combined with a minimum of 10 years quality experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Comprehensive understanding in industry standards (ISO 9001, API Q1, API specifications, etc.)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in equipment manufacturing for the Oil & Gas industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders.
- Internally motivated, with demonstrated time-management and organisational skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel and VISIO
- Knowledge of internal and external audits, and third-party certification audit practices
- Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood
