Job Summary:
The Apparel Production Coordinator plays a vital role in overseeing the production process from pre-production to product delivery. They collaborate with various departments to address concerns, ensure adherence to production timelines, and maintain quality standards. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Interact with interdepartmental colleagues to address issues and concerns throughout the production process, from pre-production to product delivery to our Distribution Center (DC).
- Cross-check production purchase orders (POs) and cut tickets against sales buy sheets and production tech packs to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Work directly with vendors to establish and maintain a Time and Action (T&A) calendar, responsible for maintaining records and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.
- Conduct daily follow-ups on pre-production tasks to ensure timely submission of all items requiring approval.
- Follow all testing procedures on fabric, yarns, trims, and finished garments to ensure quality standards are met.
- Troubleshoot pre-production and production issues, monitoring deliveries, and approving each shipment while reviewing associated documents.
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) staff to ensure product inspections meet established standards.
- Take ownership of vendor compliance, providing guidance on final packing instructions (including pre-production and carton marking) to prevent errors. Review and approve labels, tags, UPC, etc.
- Follow up on final shipping, ensuring timely booking and documentation follow-up. Review packing lists and address any quantity or pre-pack discrepancies.
- Assist in resolving post-production issues such as shortages, chargebacks, returns, or cancellations caused by vendors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Merchandising, Textiles, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in apparel production coordination or related roles within the fashion industry.
- Strong understanding of production processes, including garment construction, materials, and quality assurance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with production management software preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Knowledge of vendor compliance requirements and international shipping regulations is a plus.
