Job Details:
Purpose
Quality assurance functions for a geographic mapping software application for sensor data, including sonar, optical, and other data in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).
Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing the QA strategy
  • Staff supervisory tasks
  • End-user issue resolution
  • Other related functions as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or computer science or other related discipline
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience in software QA
  • Demonstrated ability to program in C++
  • Thorough understanding of software testing methodologies and techniques
  • Possess working-level understanding of Linux operating systems and administration
  • Design automation test framework and ensure successful implementation
  • Must have good analytic skills and proven experience in analyzing, writing and maintaining automation scripts
  • Facilitate and coordinate all test automation project activities including estimating, scheduling, status tracking, reporting, and issue and risk mitigating responsibilities.
  • Ability to provide technical and managerial leadership for a small team of software QA associates to help set the direction of QA practice
  • Ability to document and present software testing results, quality metrics and make recommendations for continued testing process improvement.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and implementation
  • Own release management ensuring a smooth and efficient release process
  • Ability to build good working relationships with people at all levels, and understand the needs of different stakeholders and communicate with them appropriately

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering
  • Five or more years of experience in software testing and Quality Assurance
  • Experience leading a QA team and setting a QA strategy
  • Experience with high-frequency SONAR or other underwater sensor data analysis
  • Experience with functional management
  • Experience with open-source build tools and procedures in the Linux environment
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Salary Range
$104,000-$174,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
