Quality Lead

Job Purpose

The QA/QC Lead will lead the Auditors team and be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers to meet the required quality standards of finished products. Acts as a resource for the staff and supports the Supervisor, with day-to-day operations. Assists with ensuring compliance with the Corporate Compliance Program and special projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all applicable QMS procedures are followed within his/her area of scope.
• Responsible for all applicable mechanical/chemical testing of material that is processed by SeAH Steel USA, LLC to insure conformity to API/Customer specifications (for Mill facility)
• Ensures that personnel are properly trained to perform all applicable duties.
• Perform internal audits of Quality, and Operations procedures and reports on them.
• Ensure all equipment is following calibration frequency.
• Maintain ongoing communications with all employees, Supervisors and Managers that are related to the process that he/she oversees.
• Assists with complaints and claims for SeAH Steel USA, LLC, and its customers.
• Reporting and instigating Non-conformances and Corrective actions.
• Assist Department Managers to create and revise procedures and implement changes/programs for Quality Systems and other functional areas.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve Quality System and product non-conformances’ by identifying the root cause and the corrective actions to eliminate the cause and perform effectiveness checks of those actions.
• Observing employees while at work and suggesting corrective action if required.
• Update the work procedures and equipment’s fall in line with the required specifications and requirements.
• Creation of lab folders as needed.(For Mill facility)
• Review of all lab data for accuracy. (For Mill Facility)
• Maintain organization of all applicable records and documents.
• Will assist in evaluating defective welds/tube defects on material that is rejected by SeAH Steel USA, LLC or our customers.(For Mill Facility)
• Record data analysis from weekly auditing reports.
• Management of daily process audits.
• Other duties as assigned.

• 
  Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

• Years of Experience:

Must have at least 5 years’ experience in quality control, heat treating, threading, and/or NDT. API, Q1, ISO, 5CT, 5L, and ASTM

• Job Knowledge:

Current knowledge and understanding of all relevant SeAH Steel USA, LLC’s SOP’s, customer specs, and API specs

Exceptional reading, writing of English as well as solid arithmetic and Computer skills preferred.

Capable of working in MS Office suite especially Excel.

Metallurgical experience preferred.

Employee must be able to work with a flexible or rotating schedule which may require over-time when needed.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
• Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted on site.
• The ability to lift 25/50 pounds regularly.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds.
• The ability to work in loud, hot environments/extreme weather while wearing required PPE.
• Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
• Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Direct Reports / Authorities

• This position has the authority of the Mill or Processing quality auditors and Mill Lab personnel.
• This position reports directly to QAQC supervisor at the Mill or Processing and/or QAQC Manager.
• Direct authority over the manufacturing quality, can stop production at any time deemed necessary to adhere to the required quality standards and/or possible equipment damage.
